The thematic school "New Challenges in Turbulence Research V" will offer its participants a detailed view on some of the major topics of the current research on hydrodynamic turbulence. It is part of a series of international schools held, since its first edition in 2010, at the École de Physique des Houches in the french Alps. It will take place from April 7th to 12th, 2019.
This fifth edition will focus on the five following topics:
- Fundamental aspects of turbulence,
- Turbulence, meteorology and climate,
- Geophysical turbulence, in the presence of volumic force and internal waves,
- Quantum turbulence,
- Instrumentation and analysis for the study of turbulence.
The NCTRV school will offer its participants to follow 10 lectures (from 1h30 to 2h) at the same time pedagogical and of the highest level. In parallel to the lectures, two half-days will be devoted to shorter talks allowing about ten participants to present their recent work.
NCTRV aims to disseminate the most current knowledge in a selection of areas of turbulence research to the benefit of young and less young researchers. PhD students, post-docs and junior and senior researchers are therefore all welcome.
